The objective of lacrosse is the score more goals than your opponent in the time that is available. Points are earned when a player nudges, kicks, bats or throws the ball with the stick into the opponents net. Lacrosse games are divided into four quarters. Professional games usually have quarters of fifteen minutes and games for non professionals or youth games have shorter quarters. At the end of every quarter of a lacrosse game the teams switch ends. If there is no winner at the end of the quarter the game will be decided on the result of the sudden death playoff.

Lacrosse is not as complicated of a game as people think. The layout is simple. The field is 110 yards long and 60 yards wide. Lacrosse positions consist of 3 attack men, 1 goalie, 3 defenders, and 3 midfielders. Play begins with a center face off which is similar to football, and tries to take possession of the ball. Once a team has possession of the ball, points try to be scored by getting the ball into the goalies net. This continues on throughout the game until the last quarter. At that point the team with the most points scored wins. Can’t get enough? There’s more: Lacrosse Rules For BeginnersThe information doesn’t stop now.
