Roughnecks rally, weather Storm in OTToth scores in extra innings to give Calgary 14-13 winR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief Kaleb Toth scored five goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Calgary Roughnecks ran off five unanswered goals to defeat the New Jersey Storm, 14-13, Friday night at Continental Airlines Arena. Unlike last week's 20-11 debacle a week ago when these teams met in Calgary, the Storm came to play tonight, grabbing a lead in the first quarter and not allowing the Roughnecks to get past all-square until the overtime goal. New Jersey took a 9-8 lead into the locker room at halftime, led by a hat trick from Billy LeFeurve. The Storm picked up in the third quarter stronger than they left off, building a 13-9 lead by the early fourth quarter. That was the end of the night for the Storm offense, though, failing to score a goal the rest of regulation time. It wasn't too productive a period for the Storm defense, either, allowing the Roughnecks to score four goals, tying the game at 13-13 after sixty minutes. Although the Storm won possession to begin the overtime period, it couldn't convert at the offensive end. Calgary wasted little time in taking advantage, feeding Kaleb Toth for the decisive tally 52 seconds into extra innings. "We didn't play well early, Toth said, "and they really came out and took it to us. Kinger [goaltender Matt King, who stopped 37 of 50 shots] really played good and kept us in it and we were able to regroup and pull this one out."In addition to Toth's five goals, Ben Prepchuk also struck gold five times for the Roughnecks. In addition to LeFeurve's three goals, the Storm was paced by two each from Cam Bomberry, Grant Johnston, and Kerry Susheski. The win pushes Calgary (4-3) above .500 for the first time in the franchise's brief history, but the Roughnecks get little time to celebrate. They're back on the floor Saturday night at Rochester. The Storm, 1-7 on the season, is off until a 20 January home game against Philadelphia.
