Roy Colsey and Marc Morley scored three goals each Saturday night to lead the New Jersey Storm to a 16-15 victory over the Ottawa Rebel at Continental Airlines Arena.

It was New Jersey's first win since defeating New York, 19-9, on 10 January.

Mat Giles put Ottawa on the board just 47 seconds in, and after a Colsey goal a few minutes later, the Rebel scored twice to end the quarter with a 3-1 lead.

The explosive offense which went missing in the first quarter took little time to appear in the second. Giles scored before the period was a half-minute old, but Sombrotto replied just as quickly. Ottawa's Jamie Roy and New Jersey's Hanley Holcomb then swapped goals in the second minute.

After Morley cut it to a one-goal game, the Rebel blew it open in the middle of the quarter. Kevin Dostie, Roy, and Doug Noganosh put Ottawa in front, 8-4, with four minutes to go in the first half.

Remarkably, though, New Jersey managed to tie the game by intermission. Colsey led the charge, followed by Scott Stewart, Sombrotto, and Mike Ladouceur.

The Storm made its move early in the third quarter, with Cory Leigh scoring twice in the first four minutes and sixteen seconds. Ottawa could not again tie the game, coming only as close as one goal.

New Jersey opened the fourth quarter with another two goals, then pushed it to 16-12 with six minutes to play.

Ottawa made a late run, scoring the final three goals of the contest. The Rebel could not get to all square, though, managing just one shot on goal in the final minute and fifty-three seconds.

Four players led the scoring with three goals and one assist each. Roy and Jason Clark did the honors for Ottawa, while Morley and Colsey had New Jersey's only hat tricks.
