Knighthawks' rally sinks Saints
Rochester nets six answered goals in 20-15 win
NLL Press Release
The Rochester Knighthawks rallied to score the game’s final six goals tonight at Nassau Coliseum en route to their third straight win, 20-15 over New York, lifting them to within a half-game of first place.
The Saints had taken a 15-14 lead with 10:48 left in the fourth quarter, at which time Pat O’Toole replaced Derek General in the Rochester goal. The move worked as the Knighthawks then scored six unanswered goals on New York netminder Sal LoCascio in a span of 7:53.
Greg Cattrano had started the game in goal for New York, with number one goalie LoCascio on the bench battling pneumonia.
Game MVP Cory Bomberry had four goals and three assists for the visitors. Duane Jacobs also had seven points (5+2), while New York’s Matt Panetta led all scorers with a nine-point night (6+3) on his 30th birthday. Darren Lowe had eight points (1+7) for the Saints, who dropped to sixth place (3-5).
