News Update 4 July 2000

A new look for the Outsider's Guide

Redesigned layout first of several improvements planned

Today, the Outsider's Guide unveiled its new layout as the first of several upgrades to the popular indoor lacrosse website, in commemoration of the second anniversary of the site's launch in July 1998.

The major change caused by the redesign is the shift of the toolbar links from the top of the page to the left side of the browser window, onto a blue sidebar that will also host images and links. The move allows more links to feature pages to be featured on the home page, and, by streamlining the design of the site, allows more information to be included in the same amount of screen space.

The previous design format had been in use since shortly after the Outsider's Guide was formally opened on 4 July 1998.

The redesign is the first of several improvements to be made to the Outsider's Guide this summer, including the creation of a photo archive page, more articles for the "Lacrosse 101" section, a "This Day in Lacrosse History" page, and in-depth previews of this fall's NLL draft.

The Outsider's Guide thanks the following people for volunteering their time to preview the redesign and offer their comments: George Bruck, Bandit, bcAce, Brent Clark, Bob Cochrane, Saul Davidson, Chad Gambone, GoKHawksGo, Fabio Gump, Doug Marcus, Johnny Mogul, Scott Neiss, John Sapello, Winston Seeney, and Smashmouth.
