The 1999-2000 First- and Second-Team All-Pro squads were announced by the National Lacrosse League today. Voting was done by the team General Managers and coaching staffs. The results were as follows:

John Tavares: Was also named today as the NLL’s MVP... Tied for the league scoring lead (83 points), and led the league in assists (49)...The February NLL Player of the Month... Crossed the 500 career (regular season) points plateau during the season... Has been a First Team All-Pro every season in his pro career except his first (1992).

Gary Gait: Tied for the league scoring lead (83 points)... Set a new personal high for assists in one season (45)... Was named Game MVP twice... Crossed the 600 career (regular season) points plateau during the season... Has been a First Team All-Pro every season in his ten-year pro career... Pittsburgh’s team captain.

Jim Veltman: Led the league in loose balls recovered (164) and short-handed assists (eight)... Led his team in assists (37)... Was named the Game MVP... Toronto’s team captain... Crossed the 200 career (regular season) assists and 300 career (regular season) points plateaus during the season... Second straight NLL First Team All-Pro selection after being named to the Second Team following the 1998 season. Had earned Second Team All-Pro honors following the 1992 MILL season and was named to the MILL First All-Pro Team following 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996.

John Grant, Jr.: Was also named today as the NLL Rookie of the Year... Led all rookies in scoring (77 points)... NLL Rookie of the Month in January and March... NLL Player of the Week twice... Two Game MVP selections... The first rookie to be named to the First All-Pro Team since 1991 (Gary and Paul Gait of Detroit).

Tom Marechek: Tied for the league lead in goals (41) and power play goals (13)... Led his team in scoring (67 points)... Led the NLL in three-or-more goal games (11)... Set new personal one-season highs for goals and points... Crossed the 300 career (regular season) points plateau during the season... Was the Week Four NLL Player of the Week... Was named Game MVP twice this season... Second consecutive First Team All-Pro selection after being named to the Second Team following the NLL’s 1998 season... Was a MILL First Team All-Pro twice and Second Team All-Pro once.

Bob Watson: Led the league in wins (nine), goals-against average (11.04), and minutes played (679), and tied for the lead in save percentage (.771)... One of only three goalies to appear in all twelve of his team’s games this season... Was a Second Team All-Pro each of the last two seasons.

Josh Sanderson: Tied for the league-lead in short-handed points (eight)... Set new personal one-season highs in goals, assists, and points... Led the Attack with eight three-or-more goal games... The NLL’s Week Two Player of the Week... Named Game MVP twice... First career All-Pro selection.

Roy Colsey: Tied for the league lead in power play goals (13)... Led his team in goals (37), points (68), and three-or-more goal games (eight)... The Week Six NLL Player of the Week... One Game MVP selection... Set new personal one-season highs in goals, assists, and points... Crossed the 100 career (regular season) points plateau during the season... First career All-Pro selection.

Ted Dowling: Tied for the league lead in goals (41), short-handed goals (six), short-handed points (eight), and game-winning goals (three)... Led the league in shots on goal (151)... Led his team in goals, points (67), and power play goals (nine)... The NLL’s January Player of the Month... Set new personal one-season highs in goals, assists, and points... Crossed the 100 career (regular season) assists plateau during the season... One Game MVP selection... 1995 MILL First Team All-Pro and 1994 MILL Second Team All-Pro.

Paul Gait: The Week Eight NLL Player of the Week... Two Game MVP selections... Mike Accursi: Finished second on the Bandits in goals (30)... Set new personal one-season highs in goals and points (48) and tied his assists mark (18)... Crossed the 100 career (regular season) points plateau during the season... Three Game MVP selections... First career All-Pro selection.

Dallas Eliuk: Finished third in the league in saves (419) and save percentage (.763)... One Game MVP selection... Went over the 3,000 career (regular season) saves plateau during the season... Prior to this season, he was a Second Team All-Pro in 1992 and had been a First Team All-Pro every season since.
