The National Lacrosse League has called a press conference for 1:00 PM today at ESPN Zone in New York City, to announce the 2001 schedule, the relocation of the league's offices to New Jersey, and the hiring of Jim Jennings as the league's new commissioner. Additional announcements may also be made.

The 2001 schedule will feature fourteen games per team, seven at home and seven on the road. This leaves the schedule short of complete balance by two games per team, since there will be nine teams playing in the coming season.

Effective Monday, the league's new offices will be located at Suite 601, 1050 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst, New Jersey. "This move to the metropolitan New York area will allow our league to maximize all of our marketing and broadcasting opportunities," league officials said. "We will be in a better position to tell the broadcast and advertising worlds of the NLL's continued success."

Jennings replaces John Livsey as commissioner. Livsey left the position in recent weeks to lead the Columbus Landsharks ownership group.

ESPN Zone is located at 1472 Broadway, New York. It is not known whether the proceedings will be open to the public.
