Last week, the National Lacrosse League named George Daniel to the position of Deputy Commisioner and General Counsel, a newly-created post that reflects a new structure in the league office.
A resident of Easton, Pennsylvania, Daniel has previously been employed as general counsel to the International Basketball Association, among other minor sports leagues and teams. He also has served as Interim Commissioner and General Counsel of the Indoor Professional Football League.
A 1998 graduate of Temple University Law School and member of the Sports Lawyers Association, Daniel is leaving his law firm in Easton (Daniel and Daniel) to take the post as NLL's second-in-command.
"I would like to thank Jim Jennings and the National Lacrosse League for this wonderful opportunity," Daniel said. "The NLL is an emerging major league and I feel fortunate to be joining the league at this time."
"George's professional experiences make him uniquely qualified for the position of Deputy Commissioner," NLL Commissioner Jim Jennings said. "I am confident that he will excel in managing the legal affairs and business operations of our league. His presence will allow me to focus on marketing and franchising so that I may best serve the NLL."
