The Washington Power unveiled its new uniforms last night during a halftime ceremony at the Washington Wizards' (NBA) game against the Miami Heat.

The outfit, shown below, features a silver base, upon which there is a red patch covering half of the jersey. A Washington Power logo adorns the chest, and sets of three blue stars are along the waistline and down each arm. A small blue uniform number with white trim appears in the lower right of the jersey. The shorts are silver, with the Power's secondary logo inside a red star on the side of the leg.

"This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the Washington Power to be recognized by such a class organization as the Washington Wizards and Washington Sports & Entertainment," said Power general manager Steve Govett. "We hope that the fans of the Washington community embrace us as the members of the MCI Center family have."

During the ceremony, Govett and Power all-star Gary Gait were introduced and fans watched a sneak preview of a Power television commercial set to run later that evening on ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, TNT, and HTS.

The Power, playing its first season in Washington after moving from Pittsburgh, open the 2001 campaign with back-to-back home matinees on 30 and 31 December, against Buffalo and Toronto, respectively. Both games are slated for 1:00 PM starts.
