Roughnecks release jersey designs

White home tops, red roads, plenty of silver & black

The Outsider's Guide has acquired a complete diagram of the Calgary Roughnecks' game jerseys for their inaugural season, beginning in two weeks.

As one might expect from the team logo unveiled several months ago, the Roughnecks' jerseys will feature red and white, with plenty of black and silver splashed in for good measure.

The home tops feature the Roughnecks' logo on a white base, with black shoulders and red and silver trim. The silver actually contains a row of rivets, consist with the roughneck theme (roughnecks lay and connect pipelines on an oil rig).

The road sweaters counter the home apparel by putting the team logo on a red base with black shoulders and red and silver trim.

On both jerseys, there is an oil rig kidney patch. The derrick itself is black in both cases, with a red background on the home sweaters and a white background on the away-from-homes.

The rivet pattern continue on the back, where the player's number is augmented to appear that it is bolted to the sweater. In both cases, the numerals are silver with black trim and the player's name is in black. On the road sweaters, the nameplate is gray in order to allow the letters to stand out better on the red base.
