ProJoy selling new-look NLL jerseysSeveral teams' sweaters markedly different than 2001 togsR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief ProJoy's sales of NLL jerseys on its web site features some surprising design choices for several teams, suggesting that fans may need a scorecard to tell the teams apart, not, as the old saying has it, the players. While ProJoy's sale of jerseys with these designs is not substantive proof of all-encompassing changes to the sweaters of such teams as the New York Saints, Philadelphia Wings, and Rochester Knighthawks, it's a good suggestion that these teams -- and others -- will be sporting new apparel this season. Leading the league in garish apparel are the Saints, who surround their famous Saint Bernard logo with flares of red, blue and black at the waist and on the arms. Eastern Division rival Philadelphia isn't far behind, retaining the familiar "W on black" logo but inserting plenty of gray flaring reminiscent of the Knighthawks' logo and sweaters. Speaking of the Knighthawks, they take a step in the opposite direction, relegating their hawk logo to a shoulder patch and cascading "Rochester" diagonally down the sweater in black letters with white shadowing. The Washington Power, meanwhile, change their base colors from red and gray to blue and gray, and have switched from spelling out "Power" to showing a "W-inside-P" logo. Also, the Columbus Landsharks have added images of shark fins, poking up out of water, at the waist and on the sleeves. ProJoy is the official licensed jersey manufacturer for all NLL teams except the Montreal Express, Ottawa Rebel, and Toronto Rock. The designs currently displayed for sale at the ProJoy web site are shown below, alphabetized by city name. Click on a jersey for a larger view.
