The province of Ontario made a clean sweep of National Lacrosse League hardware today when Ottawa Rebel goaltender Matt Disher and Toronto Rock forwards Dan Stroup and Blaine Manning combined to claim the league's player, offensive player, defensive player, and rookie of the week awards for Week One.

Leading the way was Disher, who secured both the Player and Defensive Player awards. His fifty-three saves on sixty-three shots laid waste to the Vancouver Ravens' offensive barrage and led the Rebel to a 13-10 victory on Sunday, the franchise's first home win since moving from Syracuse for the 2001 season.

Stroup secured Offensive Player honors with a five-goal outburst against the Ravens on Saturday. With six points overall, Stroup tied for the highest total in the game, and his four power-play goals comprised better than half the Rock's man-up strikes.

Manning claimed Rookie honors with four assists in the Rock's 16-11 victory over Vancouver. The second-overall pick in August's entry draft did not score any goals for the Rock, however.

Of the four awards, three are new; only Player of the Week has been seen before, dating back to 1994. Disher was named Player of the Week in the final week of the 2000 season, while Stroup and Manning are first-time honorees.
