Kyle Goundrey leads Players of Week listPeter Morgan, Rob Blasdell also honoredR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief Kyle Goundrey of the Calgary Roughnecks, Rob Blasdell of the Albany Attack, and Peter Morgan of the Vancouver Ravens have been named the NLL's Players of the Week for Week Six. Goundrey, Offensive and Overall Player of the Week, continued to showcase his offensive skills in Calgary's 20-11 defeat of the New Jersey Storm last Friday, scoring five goals, including the game-winner, adding four assists, and scooping up eight loose balls. Blasdell, the Defensive Player of the Week, recorded 43 saves on 51 shots in Albany's surprising rout of the New York Saints last Friday, 20-8. He added three assists and recovered five loose balls for the Attack. Morgan earned Rookie of the Week honors the same way former teammate Goundrey did -- nine points in a romp over the Storm. The young Raven recorded five goals, including three on the power play and one shorthanded, and four assists in Vancouver's 22-10 destruction of New Jersey on Sunday. Goundrey is a debut member of the Top Players list, while Blasdell (Player of the Week, 2000, Week Ten) and Morgan (Rookie of the Week, Week Three) are each appearing for the second time. -30- |
