The National Lacrosse League announced today that it will hold an All Star Game on Sunday, 21 April at 2:00 PM, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The announcement was made at an afternoon press conference at the Mohegan Sun resort, a casino in southeastern Connecticut.

"We are thrilled to bring the All-Star Game to the Mohegan Sun," NLL commissioner Jim Jennings said. "The game will showcase the League's top talent, and will make a fun ending to another great season for the NLL."

"We're excited to bring this great event to the Mohegan Sun," Paul Munick, Mohegan Sun's vice president of sports and entertainment, said. "We are pleased to welcome the National Lacrosse League and the national television audience that will watch this great game at our arena."

The thirteen NLL teams will divide into North and South for the game, with special jerseys designed for the exhibition. The five Canadian teams will be joined by the Rochester Knighthawks on the North side, while the other seven teams, all American, will band together to form the South.

The team rosters will be set by a combination of voting by the league's coaches and general managers, the media, and the fans, with each holding one-third of the total vote. Fan balloting will take place on the league's official web site, beginning in the coming days and extending until about two weeks before the game.

The All Star Game will air live on CNN/Sports Illustrated and HDNet, the NLL's American television partners, and talks are under way to air the game in Canada on Rogers Sportsnet. Additionally, a broadcast of the game will be available over the Internet.

Tickets to the game go on sale later this week, and will range from $40 (American) for lower-level seats, down to $10 for upper-level seats. Tickets are available at Tickets.com and any of its outlets, the Mohegan Sun box office, or by phone at 800.477.6849.

However, the game itself is only a part of the weekend festivities. The night before the game, the NLL will hold an awards night and league party. Tickets to the party run $95 with the purchase of a game ticket.

Also, the finals of the NLL's Scoop n' Shoot competition for young fans will be held during the game, and, as is NLL tradition, a postgame party will be held.
