Fatal shooting at Jayson Williams' estateLimo driver found dead at "Who Knew?"R.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief A limousine driver was found shot to death early this morning at the "Who Knew?" estate of New Jersey Storm owner Jayson Williams. Costas Christofi was found at 2:54 AM in a bedroom inside the 30,000-square-foot house, located thirty miles northwest of Trenton, dead of a shotgun wound to the chest. Originally reported as a suicide, the classification of the death has since been changed to "suspicious." No suspects have been identified. Williams, a former NBA player and currently a studio analyst on NBC's basketball telecasts, had hired Christofi to transport friends from Bethlehem, PA first to a Hunterdon County restaurant, then to Williams' estate in Alexandria Township, NJ. According to the Associated Press, Williams, brother Vincent, and ten or guests were present in the house at the time of the shooting. A skeet shooting range and shotguns are located on the estate, but it is not clear whether they were used in the shooting. A Thursday afternoon phone call to the Williams house, made by an Associated Press reporter, went unanswered. -30- |
