The National Lacrosse League today named Colorado Mammoth forward Gary Gait the Overall Player of the Week for Week Ten, the games of 28 February to 2 March.

Rochester Knighthawks forward Shawn Williams, New York Saints goaltender Gord Nash, and Columbus Landsharks defenseman Travis Gillespie were also honored for their play.

Gait scored six goals and scooped up six loose balls in the Mammoth's 18-12 victory over the Vancouver Ravens on Saturday. Gait helped spark a six-goal run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach, then scored twice in 30 seconds during the fourth quarter.

Williams, the Offensive Player of the Week, scored four goals and assisted on three others in Rochester's Friday night victory against Ottawa. Williams recorded five points in the Knighthawks' seven-goal fourth quarter, propelling Rochester to the 13-7 win.

Nash, selected as Defensive Player of the Week, stopped 55 of 73 Vancouver shots in New York's 18-16 loss to the Ravens on Friday, then made 50 more saves in the Saints' 12-8 loss at Calgary on Sunday. Nash collected 22 loose balls over the two games.

The Rookie of the Week, Gillespie scored one goal and dished out three assists in Columbus' 13-12 loss at Philadelphia. Defensively, Gillespie held the Wings' Jeff Ratcliffe to no goals on just two shots.

Gait, who moves into a tie with Buffalo's John Tavares for the most Overall Player of the Week awards alltime, now has ten such pieces of hardware. Williams is being honored for the third time in his career and Nash for the second time. Gillespie debuts on the Top Player list.
