The Rochester Knighthawks today traded forward Cory Bomberry to the Arizona Sting for forwards Jon Harasym and Kyle Arbuckle.

Bomberry, who wields one of the league's hardest shots, scored 22 goals and dished out 43 assists for the Knighthawks last season. He also was Rochester's top faceoff man in 2003, winning 53.8 percent of his draws (119-102).

In a seven-year career, all with Rochester, Bomberry has tallied 115 goals and 208 assists. He is the Knighthawks' alltime leader in assists and faceoffs won (525), and is in the top five in games played (83), goals, points (323), shots on goal (374), and loose balls (437).

In ten postseason games, Bomberry has recorded eleven goals and eighteen assists. He has appeared in three league championship games, but his only ring came from the postseason he didn't dress for -- 1997.

Harasym, the second-overall pick in the 2002 entry draft, netted thirteen goals and tacked on fourteen assists for the Columbus Landsharks in his rookie campaign. He also scooped up 50 loose balls and spent 42 minutes in the penalty box.

Arbuckle, the only player to appear for the Landsharks in all three of their seasons in Columbus, had nineteen goals and 26 assists in 2003. In a four-season career which includes a brief stint with the 2000 Syracuse Smash, Arbuckle has scored 44 goals and added 55 assists.

This past summer, the Landsharks relocated to Phoenix, where they will play at the brand new Glendale Arena.

As part of today's trade, Arizona receives the Knighthawks' second-round pick in the 2004 draft.
