Casey Powell was selected today as the National Lacrosse League's Overall Player of the Week, the first such honor in Anaheim Storm history.

Powell was joined by fellow Storm player Rory Glaves and Toronto Rock teammates Colin Doyle and Bob Watson as award recipients for Week Thirteen, the games of 25-26 March.

Powell recorded a total of seventeen points in two games last weekend, posting four goals and six assists Friday night in San Jose (a 15-14 loss) and two goals and five assists the next night at home against the Stealth.

Doyle, the Offensive Player of the Week, scored four goals and dished out two assists in the Rock's 12-8 victory Saturday night at Buffalo. His final goal turned out to be the game-winner.

Watson earned Defensive honors by allowing just eight goals on 49 Buffalo shots, only two of them in the second half.

Glaves earned the Rookie of the Week award with standout defensive play, holding dangerous San Jose forward Gary Rosyski to one goal over the home-and-home set. Glaves also tallied an assist, in Friday's game.

Doyle and Watson are being honored for the fifth time each, while Powell and Glaves are debut winners.
