Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief The National Lacrosse League's annual entry draft will be held in Edmonton on Monday, 29 August, the league announced today. Rexall Place, home arena of the expansion Edmonton Rush, will host the six-round draft. The start time was not announced. "I congratulate the city of Edmonton and the Edmonton Rush on hosting the 2005 Entry Draft," commissioner Jim Jennings said. "We’re looking forward to introducing professional indoor lacrosse to Edmonton as the Rush debut in 2006, and this is a great event to get things started." The host Rush will select second in each round. The Portland LumberJax have the first pick in each round, the result of winning a coin flip with its fellow first-year franchise. The nine teams which return from last season will then select in inverse order of finish. -30- |
