In a trade between clubs that played each other just a few days before, the Minnesota Swarm yesterday traded forward Kelly Hall to the Portland LumberJax for forward Mike Hominuck.

Hall currently leads the Swarm with eight goals, while Hominuck is Portland's top scorer this season, at 24 points.

"With Kelly, we get a forward with similar career stats and someone who can help our power play and perimeter shooting game in particular," LumberJax coach and general manager Derek Keenan said. "We really look forward to seeing Kelly in our line-up next week."

Portland's man-up unit certainly needs some assistance, converting 36.7 percent of its power play chances. Only Edmonton (36.4 percent) ranks lower.

Hall has scored 52 goals and dished out 48 assists in 32 career games. He originally was drafted by San Jose in 2003, and played one year for the Stealth before a trade to Minnesota.

Hominuck, meanwhile, leaves as Portland's leader not only in points but also assists (18), and ranks third on the LumberJax with 39 loose balls recovered and six goals scored.

Last season, Hominuck led the LumberJax with 32 goals and 58 points.

Minnesota won at Portland on Saturday, 11-8, despite just one assist from Hall. Hominuck tallied a goal and three assists in the loss.
