News Update 22 February 2007

All Star Game reserves named

League-leading Colorado sends four more to Portland

NLL Press Release

The National Lacrosse League today announced the reserves for the 2007 NLL All-Star Game, which will be played at the Rose Garden in Portland, on Saturday, 10 March.

The East and West Division teams will each have twelve reserves, combined with the six starters that were previously announced, for a total of 18 players on each All-Star Team.

Nine East Division All-Star reserves were selected by head coach Darris Kilgour (Buffalo) and assistant coach Ed Comeau (Rochester), and nine West Division All-Star reserves were selected by head coach Gary Gait (Colorado) and assistant coach Bob Hamley (Arizona). Three reserves for each division were appointed by the league.

Colorado was the most-represented team in today's announcement, sending four more players to Portland: forward Gavin Prout, defenseman John Gallant, transition player Josh Sims and goaltender Gord "Gee" Nash.

Every team added at least one player to the All Star Game rosters today, with the exception of Philadelphia; the Wings placed three players in the Eastern Division starting lineup yesterday.
