Dietrich chosen Player of Week for Week 15

Stopped 43 shots in Bandits' 15-5 rout of Arizona; Grant wins Offensive

The National Lacrosse League has announced the Week Fifteen awards, with Buffalo Bandits goaltender Steve Dietrich named both the Overall Player of the Week and the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 15-5 victory over the Arizona Sting.

Rochester Knighthawks forward John Grant earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, Buffalo's Mark Steenhuis was named Transition Player of the Week and Philadelphia Wings forward Athan Iannucci was named Rookie of the Week.

In Buffalo's victory over Arizona, Dietrich allowed only five goals, recorded 43 saves, tallied an assist and collected two loose balls in the win.

Grant scored four goals and piled on five assists for nine points, including one power play goal and one shorthanded goal, as the Knighthawks defeated the Minnesota Swarm 19-9 on Saturday at the Blue Cross Arena. Grant also collected three loose balls in the win.

Steenhuis scored three goals and collected seven loose balls in the Bandits' victory over Arizona.

Iannucci tallied ten points in Philadelphia's 20-8 win over the New York Titans on Saturday at Wachovia Center. Iannucci scored six goals and added four assists, scored two of his goals on the power play and collected ten loose balls in the victory.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's thirteen member clubs.
