Toronto Rock head coach Glenn Clark was suspended indefinitely today by the National Lacrosse League as a result of a postgame altercation on Friday.

Following a review of the incident, NLL commissioner Jim Jennings found that Clark did punch Minnesota Swarm forward Sean Pollock in a scuffle outside the Rock's locker room.

Pollock, who was ejected from the game in the first half, was not disciplined today for his role in the altercation. It is not clear why Pollock was nearby or what, if anything, he did to instigate the altercation.

Although not arrested, Clark has been charged by police with assault and faces not only a 25 February court date but also a review by the school district for which he works as a physical education teacher, with the possibility of termination.

The league did not announce when Clark's status would be reconsidered, but it is widely expected that there will be no change prior to the court date next month.

In the meantime, assistant coach Terry Bullen, who ran the bench during Saturday's rematch with the Swarm in Minnesota, will continue as acting head coach for this weekend's game against Edmonton.

Clark is in his second season as Toronto's head coach, following a nine-year playing career with the Rock (1998-2005) and Philadelphia Wings (2006).
