The National Lacrosse League yesterday lifted the suspension of Toronto Rock head coach, allowing him to return to the bench after a four-game ban.

Clark was suspended on 17 January after he had a postgame altercation with Minnesota Swarm player Sean Pollock outside the Rock's locker room at Air Canada Centre.

Criminal charges had been filed after the incident but were dropped a week ago, allowing the NLL to reconsider Clark's case now instead of after a scheduled court appearance at the end of the month.

Although Clark is free to resume his duties with the Rock immediately -- and he will coach the team tomorrow night against Buffalo -- he was issued an undisclosed fine and is on probation through the end of the 2009 season.

Clark also must meet "certain conditions for the duration of his NLL career," the league said in a press release. The conditions were not disclosed.

"After meeting with Glenn [on Monday], I am satisfied that he appreciates the gravity of what has occurred," NLL commissioner Jim Jennings said.

"I have weighed all of the facts produced during our investigation, as well information that became available from the criminal proceeding, and I am satisfied that the discipline administered is exactly appropriate for this case."

The Rock was 2-2 under interim coach Terry Bullen, who moved up from assistant coach during Clark's absence.
