Sanderson, Ratcliff swapped in deadline dealRock, Riggers trade forwards; Accursi to Bandits; Disher to 'JaxNLL Press Releases In the biggest of several trades at the trading deadline today, the Toronto Rock traded forward Josh Sanderson and a 2008 first-round draft pick to the Calgary Roughnecks for forward Lewis Ratcliff and a conditional first- or second-round selection in 2009. Sanderson, 30, was drafted in the second round (16th overall) of the 1997 Entry Draft by Rochester. He has played the last four seasons for Toronto. The Orangeville, Ontario native was the league's scoring leader in 2007 with 98 points (29 goals, 69 assists). In 2008, he has played in 11 games, scoring 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists) and has collected 61 loose balls. Sanderson has amassed 733 regular season points (257 goals, 476 assists) in 140 regular season games. Lewis Ratcliff was drafted 49th overall (fourth round) in the 2002 NLL Entry Draft by Calgary. The recurring NLL All Star for the past four years, including this season's game on 16 March in Edmonton, received All Star Game MVP honors in 2006. "We think his size, speed and offensive abilities make him one the most talented players in the league," Rock GM Mike Kloepfer said. "Ratcliff is a young star in this league who we believe will be a huge part of our club for many years." The Victoria, British Columbia native holds many records with the Roughnecks, including most goals scored (210), most assists (251) and most points (461) in 90 career games. "Josh Sanderson has been a terrific player for the Rock," Kloepfer said. "It is difficult to land a player like Ratcliff without having to give up a very good player in return." In another trade, the Buffalo Bandits acquired forward Mike Accursi from the Edmonton Rush in exchange for forward Dan Teat, along with Buffalo's second-round selection in the 2008 entry draft and its first-rounder in 2009. Accursi, who was acquired by the Rush in July from Rochester in exchange for a 2009 first-round pick, has scored 11 goals in nine games this season. The 11-year veteran previously played five seasons for Buffalo and three seasons for Rochester. He has scored 264 goals in 144 career games. Teat, a 12-year veteran, has played the last four seasons in Buffalo. He has 250 goals in 161 career games. In other Deadline Day action:
