Blazers choose Daryl Veltman with top pickRock, K'Hawks and Stealth swing three-way tradeNLL Press Release The Boston Blazers selected Hobart College graduate Daryl Veltman with the first-overall selection at the 2008 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft yesterday at TD Banknorth Garden. The San Jose Stealth picked John Hopkins grad Paul Rabil second overall, and Stony Brook grad Rhys Duch at third overall. A total of 76 players were selected in the six-round Entry Draft, which features the best young talent from NCAA lacrosse programs at US colleges and universities as well as Canada's junior lacrosse system. Prior to the draft, the Toronto Rock spearheaded a three-way trade on Sunday morning, sending Aaron Wilson to the Rochester Knighthawks and bringing Luke Wiles to Toronto. Toronto acquired Wiles from San Jose in exchange for the fifth-overall selection in the draft, a pick previously owned by Rochester. The Knighthawks acquire Wilson and Toronto's 2009 first-round pick, while Toronto also picks up defender Stephen Hoar. Complete draft results follow.
