The National Lacrosse League announced today that it will conduct the 2009 Entry Draft next month at HSBC Arena in Buffalo.

The six-round draft will be held on Wednesday, 9 September (7:00 PM Eastern) at the arena's 100 Level Harbour Club.

A player is eligible for the draft if he meets one of these conditions: (a) was born in 1988 and never played NCAA, NAIA, or NJCAA lacrosse; (b) has played NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA lacrosse and has exhausted or forfeited his eligibility; or (c) was born after 1988 and has notified the league of his intention to forfeit his remaining collegiate eligibility.

The draft will be closed to the public but fans can follow online at the league's web site, NLL.com.

The Rochester Knighthawks currently own the top two picks in the draft.
