Knighthawks select Sid Smith, Ilija Gajic 1-2 in entry draft
Zach Greer #3 to Minnesota; Alex Gajic #5 to Colorado

The Rochester Knighthawks took defender Sid Smith and forward Ilija Gajic with the first two picks in tonight's National Lacrosse League entry draft, held at HSBC Arena in Buffalo.
Smith's selection out of Syracuse University was hardly a surprise, as the Knighthawks have been billing him as the team's third-ever leadoff pick (following Casey Powell in 1998 and John Grant, Jr. in 1999) for the past few days.
The Knighthawks left a little suspense for the second pick, with Zach Greer and Garrett Billings among those being mentioned as possible selections.
Greer was immediately scooped up by Minnesota with the third pick, while Billings slid to Toronto at sixth-overall.
In between, the Colorado Mammoth grabbed a pair of players with local ties, drafting Denver University products Cliff Smith and Alex Gajic.
Toronto had its own double shot soon after, following the Billings selection by drafting Joel Dalgarno from Ohio State.
The first trade of the evening came two picks later, when Minnesota dealt the ninth-overall selection to Edmonton for Richard Morgan. The Rush spent the pick on Corey Small, a scorer from the University of Albany.
The Rock soon returned to the podium, taking Stephen Leblanc eleventh-overall with a pick acquired last night; Toronto had dealt Craig Conn and a 2010 second-round selection to Calgary for this pick and a sixth-rounder next year.
Among the notables to be drafted in the second-round was Bobby Snider, sixteenth-overall to Philadelphia. He is the younger brother of Geoff Snider, the Wings all-around terror, and has a similar profile.
Later on, the Buffalo Bandits traded their third-round selection (24th overall, acquired from Edmonton) to Washington for Frank Resetarits. It was the fourth of six deals on a relatively quiet draft night.
Complete entry draft results follow. Selections marked by an asterisk indicate that the pick was traded today.
