The following draft-day trades were made:

Syracuse traded Todd Katanchik to Philadelphia in exchange for the Wings' first round pick (7th overall).

Syracuse traded Neil Doddridge and the first-round pick acquired from Philadelphia (7th overall) to Buffalo in exchange for Jason Luke and a second-round pick (11th overall).

Syracuse traded Fred Jenner to Philadelphia in exchange for a third-round pick (21st overall).

Rochester traded Matt Riter to Syracuse in exchange for a second-round pick in the September 2000 draft.

Baltimore traded Jeff Klodzen and Derek Collins to Syracuse in exchange for Rodney Tapp and Marty O'Neill.

Buffalo traded its first-round pick (fourth overall) to Baltimore in exchange for Chris Panos.

Syracuse traded Jamie Batley to Buffalo in exchange for a conditional draft pick.
