The team formerly known as the Baltimore Thunder announced today the five finalists in its name-the-team contest.

The team, now relocated to Pittsburgh, allowed fans to submit suggestions, with 1800 recommendations offered. The five choices:

• Piranhas
• Jackals
• Beavers
• Crosse-Fire
• Panic

Fans can vote by visiting the Name that Team web site or by mailing their selection to: Name that Team, 66 Mario Lemieux Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. The deadline for voting is Saturday, 11 September. Fans may only vote once, and votes will not be accepted over the telephone.
