Rochester trades General to Albany
Knighthawks end goaltending logjam in deal with Attack
Outsider's Guide wire reports
The Rochester Knighthawks today traded veteran goaltender Derek General to the Albany Attack, in a move designed to eliminate a numbers problem Rochester had been mulling over this off-season.
Now that starting goaltender Steve Dietrich has returned from serious knee injuries, the team had to decide which of its three popular netminders would have to go. Rochester decided, to little surprise, that career backup General was more dispensable than either Dietrich or Pat O'Toole. Both remaining goaltenders have had extensive starting experience.
Rochester will receive future considerations as part of today's trade.
