Losses no big deal for Bandits and Rock in Experts PollBuffalo and Toronto still ranked 1-2 despite road lossesR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief All season, the Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll has been especially sensitive when it comes to losses by top-ranked teams. No more. Despite losing at Philadelphia on Saturday, the Buffalo Bandits finished atop the voting for the sixth straight week, falling just two points from last week. The Bandits totalled 140 points on eight first-place votes. The Toronto Rock is still in second place, even though it lost over the weekend at third-ranked Rochester. Five voters dropped the Rock below the Knighthawks, but it wasn't enough to change the overall rankings -- Toronto 131 points, Rochester 125 points. The Rock collected four first-place votes, its largest take in six weeks. The Experts were just about evenly split between the Calgary Roughnecks and Philadelphia Wings for the fourth spot. Philadelphia prevailed by a point, 100-99. The Wings, riding a five-game winning streak, overtook the sliding Colorado Mammoth. Jamie Batley's squad dropped one spot to sixth (74 points) after losing at Vancouver. Speaking of the Ravens, they moved up one spot after the 14-9 drubbing of Colorado, finishing in seventh place, with 67 points. The Albany Attack (64 points) and Columbus Landsharks (63 points) were close behind. The 'Sharks fell victim to being close to two hot teams. When the Ravens and Attack both won, idle Columbus fell two spots, to ninth. Tenth place again went to Ottawa, but at just 33 points, the Rebel is getting uncomfortably close to the "Rotten Apple." New Jersey, which beat Ottawa this week, moved up to eleventh (25 points), while New York flipped back to twelfth (14 points). Our panel of twelve experts (one from each NLL city) includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on a 12-11-10-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 144 points and the minimum is twelve points.
