Bandits continue strong Experts Poll lead

Seven points clear of Toronto; Calgary, Arizona move up

Another game, another vanquished foe, and another week atop the Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll.

Such is the life of the Buffalo Bandits, who remain in first place in the weekly rankings after demolishing Minnesota, 23-16, over the weekend. Buffalo again earned 89 points, including eight first-place votes.

Toronto, which put an even bigger hurt on Anaheim, continues to hold down the second spot. The Rock even gained a point after the 14-6 drubbing, and now has 82 points (including one first-place vote).

The Calgary Roughnecks, the hottest team in the league (6-1 in their last seven games), finally got past Colorado for third place in the Experts Poll, doing so via a 13-10 victory on the Mammoth's home turf.

That put the Roughnecks at 71 points and the Mammoth 62, snapping a four-week run in which Colorado ranked third and Calgary fourth.

Rochester continues to hold down the fifth spot, earning 51 points this week after a too-close-for-comfort 13-12 victory at Philadelphia.

That loss, which the Wings almost won despite demonstrating poor ball control skills, knocked the Wings out of their perch at number six. Arizona, which swept a home-and-home series from San Jose, broke out of a seventh-place tie with the Stealth, and now has 49 points.

Philadelphia is far back, at 34 points, four ahead of eighth-place San Jose.

Anaheim and Minnesota once again round out the rankings, but, at 14-13 in points, they're as close as can be.

Our panel of nine experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on a 10-9-8-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 90 points and the minimum is nine points.

The complete rankings from this week's Experts Poll, with comments (win-loss record through Sunday is in parentheses):
