Toronto unanimous in Experts PollRock close to 7th straight first-place finish, outpaces Bandits & RiggersR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief The Toronto Rock, marching towards its seventh straight first-place finish in the standings, is the unanimous number-one choice in the latest Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll. Toronto, which earned the full 90 points possible, is one win away from an Eastern Division title and home-floor advantage throughout the playoffs after pounding Calgary on Friday night and surviving a late Wings rally at Philadelphia the next. As they've done every week for over a month now, Buffalo and Calgary joined Toronto in the top three. The Bandits, fresh off a victory over Rochester, placed second with 80 points, seven ahead of the Roughnecks. As often seems to happen, the two teams meet this weekend, Saturday night at the Saddledome. The winner could make a serious move should Toronto stumble in its home-and-home series against Philadelphia. Colorado, which tied Arizona for fifth place last week, has now pulled narrowly ahead of Rochester for fourth place, 58-56, despite a dismal 10-6 home loss to Anaheim. After failing once again to clinch a playoff spot, Arizona slipped back to sixth place, with 48 points. That still leaves the Sting comfortably ahead of Philadelphia (36 points). The Wings remain in no danger of being reeled in by the bottom three teams, who again were reshuffled. After its big win at Colorado, Anaheim has jumped up to eighth, with 24 points. As a result, Minnesota (18 points) and San Jose (12 points) each fell one spot. Our panel of nine experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on a 10-9-8-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 90 points and the minimum is nine points.
