Big shakeup, Mammoth perfect in Experts Poll

Bandits plunge to fifth, Rock up two spots to eighth

After coming tantalizingly close several times this season, the Colorado Mammoth finally achieved a unanimous first-place ranking in this week's Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll.

Colorado, which has earned the top spot in all six polls this season (along with the final poll of 2006), received a perfect score of 104 points when all eight experts put 6-1 Colorado at the top of the table.

Buffalo, Colorado's top challenger the past few weeks, tumbled from second to fifth place this week, coming on the heels of a disastrous weekend in which the Bandits lost twice to Toronto. Buffalo and Philadelphia (up from seventh despite not playing last weekend) tied for the spot, with each club earning 67 points.

Rochester (95 points), Arizona (87 points) and Calgary (75 points) all moved up one spot due to the Bandits' fall.

Among the bottom seven teams, six teams changed position, highlighted by Toronto's jump from tenth to eighth (50 points). Chicago (34 points) made the opposite move after losing at Rochester, while New York (20 points) leapfrogged both Edmonton (18 points) and San Jose (15 points) to escape the cellar.

Our panel of eight experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on an 13-12-11-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 104 points and the minimum is eight points.

The complete rankings from this week's Experts Poll, with comments (win-loss record through Sunday is in parentheses):
