Deadlock atop LaxNet Experts Poll

Colorado, Rochester tied at 99 points each; Buffalo remains third

Despite losing for the first time in two months last weekend, the Colorado Mammoth has held on to first place in the latest Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll -- albeit with no more margin.

Colorado drew just 99 points this week (five first-place votes), following a 19-15 loss at Buffalo. This is the first time since Week One in which the Mammoth failed to reach triple digits in the Experts Poll.

What's more, Colorado no longer can claim sole possession of the top spot. The Rochester Knighthawks have matched Colorado's league-best 10-2 record and have inched up to 99 points, as well, on three first-place votes.

The tie is just the second first-place deadlock in Experts Poll history; Buffalo and Toronto were tied for one week in March 2005.

Buffalo (89 points) and Arizona (78 points) remain safely parked in third and fourth place, respectively, but Calgary has moved up to fifth place, overtaking Minnesota, 63-60.

In other moves, red-hot San Jose (49 points) moved out of a ninth-place tie with Edmonton and into sole possession of eighth, while the Rush (31 points) slipped to tenth. Toronto, which had been eighth, fell a spot, drawing 46 points.

Also, the Experts were split on Portland and New York at the bottom of the rankings, awarding the teams 13 points each.

Our panel of eight experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on an 13-12-11-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 104 points and the minimum is eight points.

The complete rankings from this week's Experts Poll, with comments (win-loss record through Sunday is in parentheses):
