Colorado consolidates Experts Poll leadMammoth earns 7 first-place votes; Swarm, Wings rising quicklyR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief After winning two intradivisional games this past weekend, the Colorado Mammoth has established itself as the consensus pick in this week's Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll. Colorado, now 4-0 on the season, picked up two more first-place votes (it now has seven) and totalled 94 points. However, the Mammoth's lead has dropped from thirteen points last week to nine points this week, as Minnesota jumped three spots to second place (85 points, one first-place vote). Philadelphia also moved up this week, improving one spot to third (79 points). Headed the opposite direction are traditional Eastern powers Buffalo (69 points) and Rochester (63 points). Both lost tight games in overtime, but the Knighthawks' tale of woe was grander, erasing a 12-5 halftime deficit Saturday night only to lose, 18-17. That cost the Knighthawks three spots in the Experts Poll, dropping from second into a tie for fifth place with Calgary. At the bottom of the rankings, Chicago climbed two places, to tenth, and almost tripled its point total (25 points) after pounding Edmonton, 17-11. Our panel of eight experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on an 12-11-10-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 96 points and the minimum is eight points. The complete rankings from this week's Experts Poll, with comments (win-loss record through Sunday is in parentheses):
