Wings continue to fly in Experts Poll

Seven first-place votes for 5-0 Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Wings this week moved one vote away from being the unanimous first-place team in the Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll.

Philadelphia, after rallying past Colorado a week ago, did the same to Minnesota this past weekend, flipping a 7-6 fourth-quarter deficit into a 17-8 rout. As a result, the Wings drew seven first-place votes this week for a near-perfect score of 95 points.

Minnesota, meanwhile, managed to remain in second place (86 points) despite the big loss because third-place Colorado also lost, 12-9 at Calgary. The Mammoth drew 82 points this week, hanging on to one first-place vote.

The big movers of the week come out of western New York, where Buffalo turned a dominant performance in Chicago into a move from sixth to fourth (67 points) and Rochester fell three spots to eighth (44 points) after a dismal home loss to New York.

Our panel of eight experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on an 12-11-10-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 96 points and the minimum is eight points.

The complete rankings from this week's Experts Poll, with comments (win-loss record through Sunday is in parentheses):
